6 months already?

Oliver cannot be 6 months old yet. He just can't! Where did the time go? As any mother knows, watching your children grow up is bittersweet because it's awesome watching your kid grow and develop, but it's also hard to let go of that sweet baby stage. Oliver now weighs in at almost 16 pounds, which is still small for his age, but at least he is growing well. Grace has always been tall and skinny yet still perfectly healthy, so I'm really not concerned. Oliver is a very happy baby, he hardly ever cries and he loves to coo and babble. For some reason he doesn't like to laugh, when we're tickling him it's like he's trying really hard to resist, but he eventually he caves and we get to hear his adorable giggles. He loves his toys and watches his big sister with so much admiration when she plays with him. Speaking of big sister, I never in a million years expected her to love him as much as she does. She's extremely patient and sweet with him. Cheesy as it may be, my heart soars when I watch the two of them interact. It's priceless!

Oliver: 4 months

Oliver had his 4 month appointment last week. He's a healthy little guy but the doctor was concerned about his weight. He's 11.3 pounds, which means he has gained less than a pound in 2 months. At his 2 month visit he was in the 25th percentile for weight, at 4 months he's in the 3rd percentile. The good news is he'2 25 inches long which is exactly where he needs to be. His head circumference is 15 inches. The last 2 months have been awesome. He is playful and happy. He laughs and smiles all the time. Because of his low weight, the doctor suggested we start solids a little earlier (nowadays the recommended starting age is 6 months) and as you can see he wasn't a big fan at first. Now that he's had it a few times though he really likes it. We're starting veggies tonight, so wish us luck!

Preschool Graduation

I cannot believe my little girl graduated from her first year of preschool. It feels like yesterday I was posting about her first day! She's learned so much. She can recite her phone number, write all her letters, and read tons of words. Every child won a special award and Grace's was "Happiest kid in school" which makes me incredibly proud. Congrats, girlfriend! We love you!

Easter

Happy Easter!

We had a nice, quiet Easter this year. The Easter Bunny hid lots of candy-filled plastic eggs all over the house. He tried to trick Grace, but she found all of them!

Of course this was Oliver's first Easter but he had no idea what was going on.

Oliver is 2 months old

Oliver went to the doctor on Monday for his 2 month check-up. To quote the doctor, he is a perfect baby! He's in the 25th percentile for weight and the 75th for height, which means he is tall and skinny just like his sister. He smiles a lot and acts excited when he sees us. I think his favorite person is Grace. When she comes in a room he grins from ear to ear. He coos and squeals at her all the time, it's adorable. We're so lucky to have 2 beautiful, healthy kids.

Basketball star

At the beginning of March, Grace started basketball. From the minute we arrived at the rec center, she was in heaven. It is so fun watching her run around and interact with the other kids.
